Filipino netizens have blamed actress-turned-vlogger Alex Gonzaga for Taylor Swift’s failure to win “Song of the Year” at the 2023 Grammys.
The 2023 Grammy Award for “Song of the Year” was won by Bonnie Raitt’s ‘Just Like That’. It was selected as the winner from a group of nominees that included Adele’s ‘Easy on Me’, Beyoncé’s ‘Break My Soul’, Harry Styles’ ‘As It Was’, Kendrick Lamar’s ‘The Heart Part 5’, Lizzo’s ‘About Damn Time’, Steve Lacy’s ‘Bad Habit’, Taylor Swift’s ‘All Too Well’ (10 Minute Version), DJ Khaled’s ‘God Did’, and Gayle’s ‘ABCDEFU’.
Swift’s song was a huge hit, but it wasn’t the most popular of the choices. Swift also has a massive following in the Philippines and her fans were disappointed to see her not win the award.
This prompted netizens to jokingly blame actress-media personality, Alex Gonzaga for singing ‘All Too Well’ at her birthday celebration.

Gonzaga is currently one of the most disliked celebrities in the country. Netizens started turning on her when it became clear that her family members were backing the current president. In the last election, Bongbong Marcos ran for the presidency and won.
On top of that, veteran actress Dina Bonnevie revealed that Gonzaga acted like a “diva” during their time working together on a series.
Recently, Gonzaga became viral for smearing cake frosting on a waiter’s face at her birthday celebration. She apologized but shortly after made jokes about the incident during her sister’s concert.
Meanwhile, pop and country phenom Taylor Swift thanked her fans for supporting her work.
I can’t put into words what this means to me. For the @RecordingAcad and my peers to acknowledge me as a director, and in doing so, acknowledge my work to try and reclaim my music… I’m blown away. Thank you to all the fans who willed this to happen. https://t.co/nVoR1myP1f
