A One PH reporter couldn’t control his giggling after mentioning the nickname of one of the suspects involved in the recent shooting of Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong Jr.
During the broadcast, reporter Mon Gualvez said that a man known as “alias Otin” had a gunfight with authorities after they sought his statement following the ambush on Adiong.
After saying the name, Gualvez can be heard giggling as he continues with his report.
“Inaalam pa rin ngayon kung konektado ba rin sa alias Otin sa anumang grupo…” he said.

In the Philippines, “utin” refers to the male sexual organ, and “otin” sounds exactly like it, hence the reporter’s struggle not to giggle.
Adiong, meanwhile, has discussed the assault that left him and another man wounded while also claiming the lives of four others.
Adiong is still being treated in an unnamed hospital in this city. He claimed he had no idea they were attacked because they traveled through a secluded area in Maguing town’s Barangay Delimbayan.
“I thought it was raining and was wondering why the drops were big. My companion said that those were not raindrops and that we were being ambushed. I said keep driving until we can reach a safe place,” Adiong declared, in Filipino.
In an interview with News 5, Adiong dismissed the possibility that the attack was motivated by a “Rido,” or clan war.
“Our families have no enemies. Our political rivals are not personal enemies. After the elections, we are still friends,” he said.
Despite the ambush, the governor remains steadfast in his fight against illegal drugs in his province.
“I am not scared to fight illegal drugs. If I will be scared, who will protect the people of Lanao del Sur and our fellow Filipinos?” he asked.
Brig. Gen. John Guyguyon, director of the Bangsamoro police, has confirmed the death of “Otin,” who was believed to be the lookout during the ambush. Guyguyon stated that the suspect was a relative of one of the persons of interest in the police investigation into the incident.
According to intelligence reports, the suspect was a relative of “Fighter,” the leader of an armed group involved in kidnapping, shooting, and illegal drugs.
Police had previously stated that a drug syndicate could have attacked Adiong.
