During the ‘Showbiz Now Na’ segment, talk show host Cristy Fermin and her co-hosts discussed the rumor that the “Eat Bulaga” issue might end up in court.
She also observed the sudden silence of the Jalosjos family after Tito Sotto’s consecutive interviews.
The TV host said apparently, there was a question of trust especially when it came to money matters.
Previously, former senator Tito Sotto said that the term “mare-retain” for the TVJ in Eat Bulaga was hurtful and not the appropriate word to use.
“Masagwang pakinggan sa amin ‘yung mare-retain kami,” Sotto told Nelson Canlas.
He furthered, “Para bang pwede kaming sipain.
Dapitan Mayor Bullet Jalosjos, who is the chief finance officer of Television and Production Exponent (TAPE) Inc., the producer of Eat Bulaga for over four decades now, was interviewed on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.”
During the interview, he mentioned that TVJ will always be a part of Eat Bulaga.
One of the statements made by Jalosjos during his interview with Abunda was that the company is financially stable and can pay for its talents.
“I want to assure everyone that we are financially stable. The company is okay. We’re doing good. We can pay for our talents. We can pay GMA so wala po tayong talagang problema when it comes to money,” Jalosjos said.
But Sotto had another to say.
I have the videos and statements to prove that na.”
Sotto also revealed that TAPE, Inc. owes a large amount to Vic and Joey.
Mahigit tig-P30 million ang utang sa kanila, for 2022 alone,” he said.
In the end, Sotto said that Eat Bulaga has only two possible directions.
“One is to leave it as it is. Ika nga, as I said earlier, let sleeping dogs lie. It’s doing well. Leave it alone. Ganu’n yun, eh. That’s one road to take.”
“The other road is hindi na tayo puwedeng magsama pagka ganu’n,” he concluded.
