Did Vice Ganda shade? ‘It’s Showtime’ host becomes viral for saying the program listens to “madlang people”

Although his remarks were related to the game, netizens on Twitter believe that Vice Ganda’s witty jokes had an underlying meaning. This is especially true for the anticipated fate of “It’s Showtime” on TV5, now that TVJ has moved there.

The recent remarks made by Vice Ganda during the June 8 episode of ‘It’s Showtime’ has gone viral amid the ongoing issues surrounding the noontime viewing habits of the audience.

Vice Ganda’s seemingly meaningful statement about the Showtime audience’s listening habits, called avid Showtime viewers, is currently circulating on Twitter.

This took place during the segment called ‘Rampanalo’; here the contestant continues to choose the “Rampa” option. This signifies that Vice Ganda stands by the specific order of the chosen boxes.

On the other hand, the audience, known as the “Rampalit,” shouts and raises placards expressing their preferences.

“Ang tigas ng ulo mo,” the host said.

“Pinapuputok mo ang panubigan ko, nanggigigil ako sa ‘yo,” he added.

Even Vice himself, despite the audience’s plea as “Rampalit,” shouted, the contestant remained firm in sticking to his decision.

“Sige, matigas ang ulo mo… buksan mo ‘yan…”

Upon opening the box held by fellow host Cianne Dominguez, it contained P20,000. This resulted in a deduction from her money, leaving her with only P28,000.

For the two remaining boxes, she was again asked whether to choose “Rampa” or “Rampalit,” but she first sought Vice’s advice.

“Hayaan mo siya, matigas ang ulo eh. Hayaan mong mapahamak. Binigyan ng idea, hindi pa nakinig. Panindigan mo yan. Sa panahon na ‘to, ang daming taong may maling desisyon,” Vice Ganda said.

“Gusto n’yong panindigan ‘yang desisyon n’yo ha? Tingnan n’yo… balang araw… gusto n’yo ‘yan ha? Oh ehhhh ‘di sigeeee.”

“Sige, sige huwag kayong makinig sa madlang pipol. Ayaw ninyong makinig sa madlang pipol ha? Panindigan mo.”

When Ogie opened the box he was holding, the amount was divided by 10, resulting in only P2,800 remaining for him.

Amy Perez first asked Vice Ganda if the contestant’s decision was correct.

That’s when Vice gave a viral answer.

“At least, habang hindi pa huli ang lahat, nakinig ka sa madlang pipol. Kultura natin sa Showtime ‘yan eh. We always listen to the madlang pipol, di ba? If you listen to the madlang pipol, you will never go wrong. Because the madlang pipol is the heart, the heart that leads you to the right path,” he said.

Netizens praised the gay host.

The last box had a x3 multiplier, so the contestant took home P8,400.

Although his remarks were related to the game, netizens on Twitter believe that Vice Ganda’s witty jokes had an underlying meaning. This is especially concerning the anticipated fate of ‘It’s Showtime’ on TV5, now that TVJ has moved there.

Some suggest that it could also be a subtle message from the comedian-TV host to TAPE, Inc., which continues to air the noontime show under the title “Eat Bulaga,” despite many suggesting a replacement to move forward and allow the upcoming hosts to start fresh.

Others have suggested that it may just be a coincidence and Vice was referring to something else, as his statement could generally apply to any situation.
