Pura Luka Vega blasted again for ‘otisya’ review

Vega recently became viral after dressing up as Jesus and performing a remix of the religious song ‘Ama Namin’ at a club.

Controversial drag performer Pura Luka Vega has angered netizens once again after making a comedic video on the communion wafer ‘ostiya.’

Vega dressed up as Jesus Christ once more and decided to make a brief food review on the ‘ostiya.’

He eventually broke it into several pieces and consumed them.

He further explained that the symbol IHS on the ostiya represents ‘International High School,’ but in reality, it stands for ‘Iesus Hominum Salvator’ in Latin, meaning ‘Jesus, Savior of Men.’

“Overall, I give this an 8.5 over 10. Really good… really really good,” he said.

The video sent netizens abuzz once more.

Some argued that until the communion wafer is blessed, it is just an ordinary type of bread.

The ‘ostiya’ can be bought online and is available everywhere.

Some pointed out that the video was a parody on the ADMU student who went viral for making a food review of the communion wafer back in March.

Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas previously spoke out on Vega’s stunt.

“Our cooperative indifference and supportive laughter, as we heard those vulgarities, make us accomplices in blasphemy. This was a small beginning like the seed of weed,” Villegas said.

“The small seeds were already planted when we chose cowardly silence as God was cursed by the highest government official. We giggled and later on voted for more officials who support such vulgarity. We were in cahoots. The seeds were planted then,” he added.
