In a recent interview on “Magandang Buhay,” veteran actress Gladys Reyes became emotional while discussing the immense support she has for her husband, Christopher Roxas, especially when it comes to his culinary pursuits.
The couple shared their experiences on the show, with Gladys proudly highlighting Christopher’s achievements in various culinary competitions.
The hosts of the show, including Regine Velasquez and Jolina Magdangal, couldn’t help but notice the genuine pride Gladys had when talking about Christopher’s accomplishments. This prompted Jolina to inquire about Christopher’s feelings when Gladys openly lauds him.
“Kahit hindi naman makita sa social media o ano, simula naman noong nagsama kami, alam ko na ‘yung suporta niya sa akin hanggang langit e. So nararamdaman ko ‘yun… sinusuportahan niya ako sa mga mahal [at] gusto kong gawin,” shared Christopher.
Gladys responded warmly, saying, “Sobrang natutuwa lang talaga ako sa kanya. Naiiyak ako sa tuwa kasi finally nagbunga lahat ng hard work ni Christopher.
“‘Di ba minsan kapag pareho kayong artista tapos hindi visible ‘yung isa, halimbawa lang sa TV, akala nila walang ginagawa. Akala nila hindi busy. Pero ayun nga, siyempre hindi lahat ng tao malalalaman nila na may ibang career ang asawa ko.”
Gladys continued, explaining that Christopher is the one who manages their business and ensures stability for their family’s future.
“May iba siyang ginagawa. Siya ‘yung sa negosyo na part. Siya ‘yung pang-stability. Siya ‘yung pang-future talaga para sa mga anak namin. And then finally, ito. Wow! Kaya sobrang proud na proud ako sa asawa ko kasi ‘yan talaga ‘yung gusto niyang gawin e.
“Gusto n’yang magluto. Yung passion niya sa pagluluto, nandoon ever since kaya sabi ko, ‘Congratulations talaga bebe, kasi finally dumating na ‘yung inaantay nating recognition for you. Meron ka ng certification,” Gladys proudly expressed.
Christopher, on the other hand, stated that he doesn’t care about other people’s opinions.
“Hindi innate sa akin… Hindi ako namumuhay para sa mata ng iba. So ako, hindi ako napapagod d’yan… Siguro ‘yun ‘yung magandang pagpapalaki sa amin ng magulang ko na dapat ‘yung magaganda sa buhay mo, ‘yung saya mo, nakasalalay sa ‘yo. Hindi sa ibang tao.”
He also lets Gladys pursue her interests without worrying about what others say.
“Do your thing kasi kapag masaya ka sa ginagawa mo, nai-shi-share mo sa mga mahal mo sa buhay ‘yun,” Christopher added.
The couple’s candid and heartwarming conversation underscores the strong support and mutual respect they have for each other’s endeavors, showcasing a relationship that truly stands the test of time.
