The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has taken swift action in response to a disturbing road rage incident that recently went viral.
In the video, a car owner is seen brandishing a handgun and physically assaulting a cyclist near Welcome Rotonda in Quezon City.
In light of this concerning incident, the LTO has issued a show cause order against the owner of the red sedan involved.
The order comes as part of a “thorough investigation” into the matter, with LTO Chief Asec. Vigor Mendoza II stressing the importance of due process and a fair inquiry before sanctions can be imposed.
The show cause order was issued through LTO-National Capital Region director Roque Verzosa III. Notably, the individual at the center of the controversy has been identified as a retired police officer and is presently in police custody, according to NCRPO Director BGen Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

Kaya most of the waivers and quitclaims na pinipirmahan niyo ay invalid. Kasi malaki ang posibilidad na you were coerced in signing such and walang nag e-explain sa inyo ang consequences ng pagpirma.
Mukhang tuloy ang kaso. Sana. https://t.co/hJ0RNl2SAv
