Pokwang takes on the P1,000 Meal Plan Challenge

In the caption accompanying her post, she explained her intention to use these groceries to cook some of her favorite dishes.

Following the viral success of former actress Neri Miranda’s P1,000 weekly meal plan, actress-comedienne Pokwang decided to join the meal plan challenge and share her own take on it.

Pokwang recently took to her Instagram to display a substantial amount of groceries she purchased for P1,000. The majority of her purchases consisted of vegetables, without any meat products.

In her Instagram video, Pokwang candidly admitted that she was uncertain about how many days these groceries would sustain her meals.

“So ito ‘yung P1,000 challenge na pang-ulam. Hindi ko lang alam kung ilang araw tatagal ‘to,” she shared in the video.

Try natin!”

In the caption accompanying her post, she explained her intention to use these groceries to cook some of her favorite dishes.

“Mga ulam na kinalakihan ko at till now paborito kong ulam [face savoring food emojis] tingnan natin ilang ulam ang mabibili ko sa 1K peso challenge [folded hands emoji],” she wrote. “Abangan yan sa aming vlog sa Mamang & Malia youtube Channel [red heart emoji] SOON….”

A netizen in the comment section inquired if these groceries would be sufficient for a week’s worth of meals.

Pokwang responded, “Napagkasya ko ng two days binase ko ng lima sa pamilya.”

Recall that Neri’s weekly meal plan had stirred controversy on social media, with many netizens deeming it unrealistic. However, the resourceful wife defended herself, emphasizing that it was just a “sample” to give people an idea of how to save money on food. She also explained that her budget only amounted to P1,000 because she had pet chickens, so she got eggs for free. Additionally, she mentioned her love for gardening, which eliminated the need to buy vegetables and fruits. She apologized for any confusion and promised to provide a more detailed meal plan with the prices of each ingredient.
