Actress Janella Salvador and Frankie, the daughter of prominent personalities Sharon Cuneta and Kiko Pangilinan, have voiced their support for the controversial drag artist known as Pura Luka Vega.
Vega, whose legal name is Amadeus Fernando Pagente, found themselves in custody after an arrest in Manila connected to a case stemming from their ‘Ama Namin’ drag performance.
Bail for their release was established at P72,000.
A donation drive initiated for Vega’s bail has, as of Friday, gathered more than P500,000.
Janella Salvador shared an art card on her Instagram, along with the hashtag #FREEPURALUKAVEGA. The card prominently displayed the message “Drag is not a crime!”
Frankie echoed her support by reposting the same art card on her Instagram story, featuring the message “Drag is not a crime!” and the hashtag #FREEPURALUKAVEGA.
Both celebrities shared the art card initially posted by actress Janella Salvador.
Ice Seguerra also recently expressed their disapproval of Vega’s arrest, who also goes by the name Amadeus Fernando Pagente. The arrest occurred at Vega’s residence in Manila in relation to an ongoing case linked to their ‘Ama Namin’ drag performance.
