Celebrity and entrepreneur Deo Balbuena, known by his moniker “Diwata,” found himself in the spotlight once again as authorities served him a warrant stemming from a charge filed against him in 2018.
The warrant, served at his Paresan establishment in Pasay City, was issued by Hon. Allan B Ariola, Presiding Judge of the Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 48 in Pasay City.
According to PNP Spokesperson PCapt. Mark Jun Anaviso, Diwata cooperated peacefully with the authorities during the process.
Diwata promptly posted bail amounting to P3,000 to secure his temporary freedom. This development caught the attention of netizens, many of whom expressed their support for Diwata, attributing the complaint to his past.
The incident brought to mind Diwata’s rise to social media fame, particularly after he gained recognition from several vloggers for his involvement in a viral commotion back in 2016.
His Paresan business became popular among netizens due to his colorful personality and his determination to overcome poverty.
