A conspiracy theory has surfaced online, suggesting a connection between the trending OPM song ‘Pantropiko’ by the all-female group BINI and the current intense heatwave, likening the song to devilish origins.
BINI is composed of eight young women: Jhoanna, Maloi, Aiah, Gwen, Mikha, Sheena, Colet, and Stacey.
According to a post by a netizen named Jayson Laniba, the title of the song, ‘Pantropiko,’ is being interpreted as a summoning of the devil due to its mention of “Pan,” the Greek god of the wild, and “Tropiko,” referring to tropical regions.
The post claims that singing and dancing to the tune of ‘Pantropiko’ invokes the presence of Pan (Satan), resulting in hotter temperatures akin to those of hell.
However, Laniba clarified that the post was meant as satire, and no evidence supports the theory. Despite this, the post gained traction, garnering thousands of reactions, shares, and comments.
