University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons guard Harold Alarcon has firmly denied rumors of a relationship with controversial Cebu personality Jude Bacalso.
Alarcon clarified his stance after speculation linked him to Bacalso, who is known as a writer and former television host in Cebu.
In a recent Facebook post, Alarcon stated that he does not personally know Bacalso and is only romantically involved with Roma Mae Doromal, the libero for Capital1 Solar Energy Solar Spikers.
“Roma Mae lang po jowa ko. Stop spreading wrong information. Thanks, boss,” Alarcon wrote, refuting the circulating rumors.
The rumors appear to have been fueled by a fake Facebook account impersonating Bacalso. This account falsely claimed that Alarcon was supportive of Bacalso despite a recent controversy involving her.
Bacalso recently faced backlash after allegedly making a restaurant staff member in Cebu stand in front of her for nearly two hours for addressing her as “sir.” This incident quickly garnered negative attention online.
On Monday night, the impersonating account posted a message thanking Alarcon for his supposed support, stating, “Thank you, babe, for not leaving me and loving me to the fullest!”
In response to the backlash, Bacalso issued a statement on Facebook, acknowledging the incident and expressing regret. She mentioned efforts to resolve the matter with the restaurant management and staff, although the waiter involved was not present.
“Earlier today, I sat down to quietly settle the matter with the restaurant management, one crew, and the store supervisor who were present last night. The waiter I had a disagreement with was not present. After each one of us aired our sides, I am happy to share that we have agreed to pursue together more inclusive practices in the restaurant,” Bacalso stated.
