Chloe Anjeleigh San Jose, the girlfriend of Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, has publicly addressed recent comments made by Yulo’s mother, Angelica Poquiz Yulo, which have stirred significant controversy.
In a Facebook post, Chloe responded to Angelica’s criticisms and expressed her frustration.
She shared an exclusive interview from Bombo Radyo and wrote: “Mother dear I’m gonna hold your hand when I say this…pero wait ka lang, tapusin lang po namin yung vault finals–paki-on na your comment section po ah, ‘di yung nag dedelete ka pa + off com sec,” indicating her displeasure with how Angelica has been handling the situation.
Chloe also took a subtle jab at Angelica’s viral post, captioning her own post: “Japan pa din talaga..lakas! but malakas din naman si Carlos Edriel Yulo, GOD IS WITH HIM [emoji].”
The controversy erupted when Angelica criticized Carlos Yulo’s performance and expressed support for Japanese gymnast Shinnosuke Oka, which led to a wave of backlash and support for Yulo and Chloe on social media.
In response, Angelica posted on Facebook acknowledging her mistakes and stating that the family is working to resolve the issues.
She said, “Alam ko may mga pagkakamali ako pero inaayos na naming magpapamilya ang Issue.” Angelica also announced that she would be turning off her comments section temporarily to protect their privacy, adding, “Umaasa ako na sooner or later magiging OK din ang lahat on all of us. Thank you!”
Additionally, Angelica revealed that she had blocked several individuals on Facebook. She reiterated her concerns about Chloe causing tension within the family and mentioned issues related to the dormitory in Japan funded by the Philippine Sports Commission. Angelica claimed that Chloe was using the dormitory, which led to dissatisfaction among Yulo’s parents.
Angelica firmly denied accusations of misusing Yulo’s money, explaining that any funds from his savings were used for necessary home repairs.
