Chloe also provided a glimpse into their love story on her TikTok account, detailing how their relationship began. She initiated their first conversation by sending Carlos a message on X (formerly Twitter) in April 2020.
“Hi, I’m a fan po. Just came across your account and hindi na po kayo as active as before. I hope you’re doing well po. Stay safe. God bless,” Chloe wrote. To her delight, Carlos replied, “Hello, hehe. Anyway, I’m doing great here. Thank you. Ikaw din diyan ingat and God bless.”
Chloe was surprised and thrilled by his response and follow-back, saying, “Awwe I didn’t expect you’d reply and even follow me back. Thank you so much. Have a great week ahead.”

Their simple exchange blossomed into a long-distance relationship, with Carlos training in Japan and Chloe studying in Australia. After two years apart, they finally met in person at the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam, where Carlos was competing.
Chloe has since accompanied Carlos to various international competitions, including the 2024 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series in Qatar and the Paris Olympics. Her unwavering support has been a significant source of strength for Carlos, who continues to bring pride to the Philippines with his outstanding performances in gymnastics.
