Recent social media discussions have drawn controversial comparisons between Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), and Jesus Christ, due to the numerous serious allegations against him.
Quiboloy is facing charges that include rape, human trafficking, and child abuse.
Some online posts have likened Quiboloy’s current legal issues to the suffering of Jesus Christ before his crucifixion.
These comparisons have sparked significant backlash, with many condemning the analogy as inappropriate and offensive given the nature of the allegations against Quiboloy.
Notably, award-winning writer Jerry Gracio has strongly criticized the comparison.
In a Facebook post, Gracio expressed his disapproval of likening Quiboloy’s situation to that of Jesus, highlighting the fundamental differences between the two.
Quiboloy was recently arrested after evading authorities. He requested hospital arrest, a plea that was swiftly denied by Senator Risa Hontiveros, who remarked that Quiboloy was not in a position to make such demands.
