6,000 runners to participate in the first-ever JCo Run 2024 at Mall of Asia

In honor of the brand’s 12-year milestone in the Philippines, the highlight of the event will be a special 12K run with 2,300 participants, replacing the usual 10K category.

JCo Philippines is set to celebrate its 12th anniversary with the JCo Run 2024, expected to draw 6,000 participants on November 10 at the Mall of Asia concert grounds in Pasay City.

The event, organized by international marathoner and coach Rio Dela Cruz of RUNRIO, will feature various race categories, with registration closing just 15 minutes after opening due to overwhelming demand.

In honor of the brand’s 12-year milestone in the Philippines, the highlight of the event will be a special 12K run with 2,300 participants, replacing the usual 10K category. “We decided to put up the 12 km as the main event since we’re celebrating our 12th year of existence in the Philippines. We choose fun runs as one of our main activities because we believe that health is wealth,” said Jericho Eva, JCo’s Assistant Marketing Manager, during the event’s launch on October 22 at the JCo branch in Glorietta 2, Makati City.

Celebrity couple Juancho Triviño and Joyce Pring-Triviño, who are participating in the 12K race, also attended the launch. Joyce shared how running with her husband has become a stress-reliever and a positive influence on her health. “We find running as stress reliever. Juancho is the one regularly jog, talagang pinipilit niya akong samahan siya kaya kahit ayaw ko napapasama na ako which later I find it good sa aking health,” she said.

Juancho expressed his gratitude to JCo for organizing the event, which not only encourages regular runners but also gives health enthusiasts a new avenue to stay motivated in achieving their fitness goals.

Eva expects the event to be a major success, similar to the JCo Run held in Indonesia, where the company originated. “Although the number of participants is not as huge compared to the Indonesia event, I think yung success sa organization eh kaya nating i-match o baka mahigitan,” he added.

The JCo Run has been an annual event in Indonesia since 2016, and this will be its first edition in the Philippines. The course will take runners through Seaside Boulevard, Diokno Boulevard, and Roxas Boulevard, with the finish line at the Mall of Asia Complex.

As part of the festivities, JCo will also open a new store at SM Mall of Asia on November 8. All finishers will be treated to complimentary drinks and donuts, along with unique, donut-themed medals to mark their achievement.
