It received PHP2.3 million in incentive funds as an SGLG awardee.

As a testament to its good governance, the Marikina City government has garnered seven awards in the recent Department of the Interior and Local Governor-National Capital Region (DILG NCR) Urban Exemplar Awards Ceremony at the Novotel Hotel in Quezon City.

The local government was recognized in several areas, including Anti- Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Audit, Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT VAWC), and Peace and Order Performance Audit (POC)

It was also acknowledged as Highly Compliant with the Manila Bay Clean-Up, Rehabilitation, and Preservation Program (MBCRP)-LGU Compliant Assessment.

Marikina City also received accolades, such as Ideal Level for the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Audit, Top Performer for Informal Settler Families (ISF) Cluster, and Top Performing LGU in the Regional Subaybayan Performance.

“We express our gratitude to DILG-NCR for these recognitions. This is proof that our efforts toward good governance are yielding positive results,” Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro said.

“Ang mga award na ito ay magsisilbi bilang aming lakas para lalo pang pagsilbihan ang mga lahat at maihatid ang kanilang mga pangangailangan,” he added.

For Marikina 1st District Rep. Maan Teodoro, these awards will inspire the local government to exceed its already high standards of service and further enhance its initiatives for the benefit of its residents.

“Mahusay na ang Marikina, mas lalo pa nating paghuhusayin ang paglilingkod,” said Rep. Teodoro, who is closely collaborating with Mayor Teodoro to craft and implement plans and programs for the city’s continued development.
