Content creator Jen Barangan addressed critics who took jabs at her latest concert video from Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism Tour on November 14 at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
The social media personality’s post showed her enjoying the concert, focusing on the performance rather than herself, a notable change from her controversial video during Olivia Rodrigo’s concert.
In her Olivia Rodrigo concert clip, Barangan faced backlash for using a flashlight while recording herself singing along, with netizens calling the move disruptive.
For Dua Lipa’s event, Barangan opted to stay low-profile, but this didn’t stop netizens from revisiting the flashlight incident.
One netizen commented sarcastically, “Na-trauma na si Miss Jen, hindi na niya gustong mag-video at kumanta.” Barangan replied in Cebuano, “Lisod na” (“Mahirap na”).
Others continued with cheeky remarks: “Daah, wala nang flashlight, oy, ma-bash pa.”
To which Barangan retorted, “Angelica, parang time na para tanggalin ang nakalagay sa profile mo na ‘The best of it all is, God is with us.’ Hindi bagay.”
Despite the criticism, many fans defended Barangan, highlighting that she has learned from past mistakes.
“Some people here keep recalling someone’s mistakes as if they haven’t committed any. Come on, Jen has learned. How about you?” one user said.
Another supporter added, “Move on na, guys. She learned her lesson. Why don’t you give her a break? Happy happy lang po.”
Barangan expressed gratitude for her supporters while continuing to brush off negativity.
