Thirteen publishers from The Independent Publishers Collab PH (TIPC PH) have banded together to be part of the Philippine Book Festival (PBF) happening at the Megatrade Hall at the 5th Level of SM Megamall from March 13-16, 2025. The publishers, collectively known as booX That Leave a Mark, are occupying booth no. 17 of the Booktopia section where they will be offering their newest releases, best-selling titles, and award-winning books — all written by Filipino authors and showcase Filipino culture and literature.
booX That Leave a Mark publishers are highlighting their books about gender sensitivity, the environment, nationalism, wellness, the OFW experience, children, social issues and many other compelling and timely subject matters.
The collective is composed of Aklat Ulagad, Alagwa Books, Alubat Publishing, Bente-Bente Zines, Bookshelf PH, Gadgad Press, Grana Books, Isang Balangay Media Productions, LitArt Publishing, Plaza Books, San Anselmo Press, and Southern Voices Printing Press.
In a statement, the booX That Leave a Mark publishers declared, “We see our books as stepping stones to learning and understanding. Hence, we have adopted the phrase ‘Building book bridges’ as our motto.”
In line with this, the group is presenting a panel discussion entitled “Building Book Bridges: Curating the Best Books for an Inclusive Library” on March 14, 2025, Friday, 2-3 pm at the Creators’ Stage of Megatrade Hall. The resource persons include author Lean Borlongan of Alagwa Books, librarian Zarah Gagatiga of The Beacon Academy, publisher Robin Sebolino of Plaza Books, and librarian and consultant Von Totanes, PhD. The moderator is poet and advocate PJ Diano Morante. Attendees of the talk are encouraged to register at https://forms.gle/oWX5yyjsqRbuh3ja9 to reserve a seat.
The group is also sponsoring a Facebook photo/video essay contest open to teachers wherein three winners will be awarded Php 5,000 worth of books and prizes each. The deadline of the entries is on March 14, 2025.
To give readers a chance to get up close and personal with their literary idols, authors will have book signing events at the booX That Leave a Mark booth.
