The Office of the Vice President has been accused of sending spoiled food to frontliners stationed at the Diliman Doctors Hospital.

A netizen named Jamie Alexandre Alonzo tweeted the allegations and claimed that VP Spokesperson Barry Gutierez even went to the institution the very next day to apologize and to ask personnel to “keep quiet”.

The Twitter user then blamed the media for not reporting the rumor.

Guiterrez denied the accusation saying that he has never visited a hospital since the implementation of the ECQ. He also warned of the consequences of committing cyberlibel.

Robredo herself went on social media to deny the accusations and labeled it as “fake news”. The OVP never received “such complaints” and those who spread the false information will be sought after by authorities.

Cyberliber is a very serious crime as seen with the conviction of Rappler CEO Maria Ressa which received international condemnation.
