Newlyweds donate PPEs and groceries instead of celebrating their wedding

It was also a suggestion of their pastor to perform the initiative.

Newlyweds Harlene and Wilbert Silverio decided it would be more appropriate to help those in need instead of having a celebration in this difficult time when people are still struggling with problems brought by the pandemic.

The couple got married at the Victory Church, Sta. Maria, Bulacan with only ten attendees on June 18. They donated groceries to the communities and PPEs to hospitals in Bulacan after the wedding.

The medical mission group cooperative hospital at Turo, Bocaue, Pandi emergency service, and the community in Corazon de Jesus Poblacion, Sta. Maria were the recipients of the donations.

According to Wilbert, they did this to thank God for making it possible to get married in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis in the country.

“Gusto lang namin i-honor si Lord, and we as a couple believe na yung maliit na tulong namin may malaking difference na magagawa hopefully maging inspiration din sa iba,” Wilbert said in an interview.

It was also a suggestion of their pastor to perform the initiative.

“Pinag-usapan namin ni misis and pinag-pray din. Eventually, pinili namin siyang gawin. It is our way to honor God at the same time, thanksgiving na din namin ‘yun sa mga modern-day hero natin,” Wilbert added.
