- Deputy Speaker Rodate Marcoleta revealed that his wife is actually a fan of LizQuen.
- He said this during the 12th hearing regarding ABS-CBN’s pending franchise renewal.
“Ang asawa ko po ay talagang avid fan,” Deputy Speaker and Sagip Party-list representative Rodante Marcoleta stated regarding Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil’s love team at the ABS-CBN franchise hearing last July 6.
Adding to the interesting fact, he said that his wife is also a regular viewer of LizQuen’s now-defunct series Make It With You, which he watches with her.
“Kaya ko po napapanood yun, ayaw po kasi ng asawa kong nanonood siyang wala siyang kasama. So kahit na po ako’y basa nang basa sa maraming papeles, kailangan ko pong pumanik para panoorin iyon.”

Marcoleta is one of the House panel members who are against the renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise. The network’s shutdown since May 5 has caused huge controversy as people claimed that it’s a form of “political oppression.”
Through a video posted by Ogie Diaz on Facebook, Soberano and Gil said they appreciate that Marcoleta and his wife are fans of the ABS-CBN series. The two Kapamilya stars also took the opportunity to ask Marcoleta, who has been critical of ABS-CBN’s application for a new franchise, to give their home network another chance.

Theodore Boborol, who is the director of the said teleserye, reacted to the revelation on Twitter saying that if only Congress was not so keen on discontinuing ABS-CBN’s franchise, Marcoleta’s wife could still be watching the series.

One of the shows that got affected by the ABS-CBN shutdown was Make It With You. Soberano then confirmed its discontinuation on her Instagram account. “It breaks my heart to confirm that we will no longer be coming back to air,” she wrote. She later also indicated that it was also due to health issues why they decided not to resume taping.
