Based on international reports, the pandemic isn’t going away anytime soon. Thousands are getting infected and thousands are still dying.
However, the spread of the disease isn’t even the biggest problem many have argued. They say issues such as mental health, income, and unemployment among many others raise more concerns.
Hunger is also another major problem that arose in the midst of this health crisis. While the indigent are used to feeling hungry, it doesn’t mean they should always do, and luckily for them, there are still those who care.
A video of two homeless kids receiving food from a woman has gone viral on social media.
Netizen Samuel Lee Wui Phung posted the video on Facebook that garnered praises from the public.
The two were sitting outside a KFC looking miserable when a woman handed them a meal from the fast-food restaurant.
After realizing that they were going to be eating that day, the kids gave Samuel a thumbs up.
“The moment when you see this true reaction from the less fortunate kids. I’m speechless,” Samuel said.
Samuel owns a car repair garage and sneaker shop so his blessing wasn’t so heavy on his pockets.
He said that the kind gesture happened on November 1 in the afternoon. He asked his girlfriend to go inside KFC again to buy a meal for the children.
“I saw the kids and they look like they are homeless or pendatang asing tanpa izin (PATI). I don’t know lah what is their status. So I decided to give them money,” he said.
“At first, I give them RM3 only. I see the brother and sister counted the money so happily, then I took [my phone out] to record the moment,” he added.
Netizens thanked the couple for going out of their way to help the less fortunate. Others have commented saying they’d like to wire Samuel some cash for him to give to the children if ever he passes by them again.
