No one wants to wake up and find out you have been tattooed with a very embarrassing image on your body. But this happened to Holly Aston from Druids Heath.
She will never forget the day she woke up after a drunken party and found that her friends had permanently inked her with a man’s penis using a DIY tattoo gun she bought on the internet.
Deemed to be the woman with Britain’s most embarrassing tattoo, Holly hid the mark from her parents for two years.
She shared that it was easy to buy a tattoo gun on the internet which only costs £50. The kit also included needles and ink. Plus it was easy to operate. Good thing she and her friends did not get any infection or blood poisoning as it did not come with instructions as to how to keep it sterile.
“I had tattoo parties with my mates. We’d have some drinks and tattoo each other – it was stupid. I let my mates draw whatever they wanted.”
She went on to tell that she knew what her friends were doing but did not mind at the time saying it was just a joke. “But then I woke up the next day, looked at it and thought ‘Oh God, what have I done?’The joke was over and it really wasn’t funny anymore.”
The then 17-year-old lady resented the day she allowed her friends to draw a man’s willy on her shoulder because it ruined her teen life.
“I had to keep it covered up in the summer; if I went swimming I tried to cover it with plasters because I didn’t want children seeing it.”
She also turned down family holidays because she was hiding it from her parents, “I thought they’d kill me,” Holly said.
Today, the self-confessed former ‘wild child’ says she wants to move on with her life.
“I want to go to university this year and to be taken seriously without this silly tattoo, but I can’t afford the thousands of pounds it would cost to remove it.”
She now works part-time in Poundland carrying a diploma in animal management.
Thanks to a TV show named Bodyshockers, her graphic tattoo will now be removed; all laser removal sessions covered.
Katie Piper, the host of the show helped Holly reveal to her parents about the shocking tattoo.
“She helped me tell my parents, who reacted better than I thought they would. I thought they’d be really angry but my mum Patricia was more disappointed that I hadn’t told her about it.”
Just recently, she happily shared she just had her fifth session and the mark is nearly gone. “I feel like I can start afresh now,” Holly said.
