Before COVID-19 completely took over the world, people had the freedom to attend and enjoy events as much as they can. This includes concerts, parties, and weddings.
And as most Filipinos are very traditional, there are some similarities when it comes to each celebration.
Bossa nova singer Sitti Navarro shared a screenshot of a comment under the music video of her hit song Para Sa Akin. The netizen who goes by the name Ron Ron on YouTube said that the song is usually what plays during weddings when it’s finally time to eat.
“Ito yung kantang pini-play sa kasalan habang nakapila [mga] tao sa buffet. Hays, miss ko na cordon bleu,” he wrote.
An Instagram follower of the singer then sent the comment to her. Sitti said that she was amused by it and how it also made her realize how much she misses going to and performing on events. Not only that, but she also misses the food.
“Oo, nakaka-miss na talaga mga events. Nakaka-miss na um-attend at kumanta sa mga kasal at ang pinaka-inaabangan naman talaga lagi ay ang pagkain!” Sitti wrote.

She also reposted a TikTok video re-enacting the scenario that usually happens in wedding receptions. The user @markybap acted as the emcee reminding everyone to take a photo with the newlyweds before going to the buffet and also for the guests to only get one cordon bleu slice each.
The singer then noticed that people have started sharing about what they missed during weddings.
“Pag pini-play ‘to naaamoy mo na yung handa sa buffet,” Ian Bartolome said.
Another netizen said that everyone should acknowledge Sitti’s impact when it comes to events.
She then thanked all the lights and sounds suppliers for always playing her songs during events and wedding singers who include them in their setlist.
“Dahil sa inyo talaga kaya na-equate ang mga kanta ko sa chicken cordon bleu at lumpiang shanghai,” she joked.
