A bride in India called off her wedding after the groom failed to recite the multiplication table of two during the ceremony.
They were supposed to be married on May 1.
Somehow skeptical about the groom’s educational background, the bride asked him an easy math question.
When the groom failed to recite the multiplication table of two–the bride decided to leave. She can’t be with someone unfamiliar with basic Mathematics.
According to the bride’s cousin, the groom’s family lied by not being honest about him not having gone through enough education.
“The groom’s family had kept us in the dark about his education.
“He may not have even gone to school. The groom’s family had cheated us. But my brave sister walked out without fearing social taboo,” she told local reporters.
Both families will be returning to each other all the gifts exchanged leading up to the failed wedding.
The same scenario happened in 2015 when a bride also dumped the groom after he answered “17” when asked what the sum of 15 plus 6 is.
