It’s untrue that the mainstream media refuse to cover the campaign of Malacañang aspirant Bongbong Marcos.
A TikTok video circulating social media captioned “Ayaw akong icover sa media at television… Mabuti na lang nandyan kayo sa social media…” shows Marcos thanking his supporters for using social media to promote his candidacy amid the media’s alleged decision not to cover it.
Many believed the lie and proceeded to accuse the media of being “biased.”
The clip was published in 2018 and was just used by supporters to fuel the former senator’s campaign.
Marcos said in the video.
The fact is the media actually covers Marcos and any event related to him.
Rappler and other news outlets covered Marcos’s filing of his certificate of candidacy. CNN Philippines also noted that Marcos had gained the endorsement of the Enrile family. In addition, INQUIRER published an article when Marcos revealed that his running mate would be Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
The media reported the disqualification petitions filed against Marcos along with his camp’s response. His caravan held on December 8 was also covered by ABS-CBN. And interestingly, Marcos supporters harassed the reporter and accused the Kapamilya network of being biased, adding that it should handle its unpaid taxes.
