A facebook post by a BBM-Sara support group got fact-checked by no less than The Guinness World Records, after the former’s claim that the presidential-vice-presidential tandem held the longest motorcade on record.
“This information is incorrect,” replied Guinness World Records to a post made by a Bongbong Marcos-Sara Duterte support page.
In a post, the BBM-Sara Uniteam Headquarters Northern Luzon, Crown Legacy Hotel Baguio page, captioned “GUINNESS WORLD RECORD LONGEST MOTORCADE BBM”.
The said post also had attached photos that showed Marcos and a very long night motorcade that the page claimed to have been held somewhere in Ilocos Norte. The verified Guinness page, however, debunked the claim.
On twitter, the Guinness World Records verified account also quoted a netizen’s post containing a screenshot of the facebook post. “Not here to waste anyone’s time” the Guinness quote tweet reads.

As of this writing, the said facebook post by the BBM-Sara supporter has since been deleted, but screenshots have been reproduced and have become a major topic on various social media platforms.
“This information is incorrect. -Guinness World Records. Charot!” tweeted social media personality IamCharotism.

Twitter user, @silentreadon01, meanwhile, noticed that the BBM-Sara page deleted Guinness’s comment on their post. “Dinelete nila ung comment ng guinness.. kahiya (They deleted Guinness’s reply to their post”, she said.

Another user, @mysherrylamour noted how misinformation is more rampant on facebook than on twitter. “Guys, can we have a strong presence in FB to disclaim all these misinformation? The majority of the Filipino voters are there. Truth is ruling in twitter. Why not spread the same in big Filipino social media platforms like FB and Tiktok? Numbers matter, sadly. Make each day count,” she suggested.

@KikoLead2022, on the other hand, brought to attention, another false claim made by the page. “Wait, theres more. Haaaaaay” she tweeted, with a screenshot of the page’s post, where it claimed that the Bangui Wind Farm is a BBM project.
