Toni Gonzaga, criticized for her claim that she stood alone in supporting the presumptive president Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Gonzaga left her hosting duties to focus on Marcos’s presidential campaign in February. She was among the most consistently present figures in Marcos Jr’s many people’s rallies across the country.

Actress and former Pinoy Big Brother host, Toni Gonzaga, took to Instagram to show how proud she was for supporting her presidential bet: his wedding godfather, Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.

Gonzaga left her hosting duties to focus on Marcos’s presidential campaign in February. She was among the most consistently present figures in Marcos Jr’s many people’s rallies across the country. As the former dictator’s son may be just days away from getting officially proclaimed as the 17th President of the Philippines, Gonzaga seems to feel nothing but proud of her choice to sacrifice her booming career, so that she could help Marcos Jr. get his family back to Malacañang. As of this writing, Marcos Jr. Has already pulled off a landslide lead over his nearest contender, Vice President Leni Robredo.

On Instagram, Gonzaga shared with her supporters, some of her photos during the campaign season. “In the end…. Stand up for what you believe is right. Even if it means standing up…. Alone” she said in her caption.

Many netizens, however, raised their brows at the actress-host’s statement.

Nina, who took Gonzaga’s statement, took a swipe at the latter and reminded her of the 31 million votes Marcos Jr earned. “Eh kung alone pala si toni gonzaga, sibuyas lang ba yung 31M? Hahaha ang mature lol (If she’s indeed alone…are the 31 million votes Marcos jr got, came from onions?!).”

“Alone? 31M ang na BODOL – BIG TIME! Ikaw hindi KUMITA Ka BIG TIME Di Ba? (Alone? Really. 31 million people were fooled. Unlike you, of course…you earned big time from it!)”

Mylow had similar sentiment “31M+ votes and you still felt alone? Nakakaawa ka Toni Gonzaga, nakakaawa kayo (You’re pathetic, Toni…all of you are pathetic)” she said in her tweet.

Other netizens, took offense in the actress’s claim that what she did is ‘right’. “Anong right pinagsasabi mo? Basa ka uli ng BIBLIYA mo at isabuhay mo (What ‘right’ hing are you referring to? Read the Bible again and live by it)” a Twitter user named John, reminded the actress.

Cam Cordova, meanwhile, told Gonzaga that her presidential bet’s winning does not mean she is right. “Just because you won, doesn’t mean you’re right.” she tweeted.

Gonzaga, before the election, notably earned the flak of netizens and supporters of other presdiential candidates, including Mocha Uson, for declaring Malacañang as the Marcoses’ true home.
