The Viu Philippines executive honored her former employer with nothing but nice words about the work ethics of its employers, including talents and people behind the camera.
Viu Philippines’ content development manager, Garlic Garcia, felt the need to highlight the success of their first collaboration with ABS-CBN, for the press to know the gargantuan challenge they defeated.
“Coming into Flower of Evil, there was actually a lot at stake, because we were coming from the massive record-breaking success of our very first partnership title with ABS-CBN, which is The Broken Marriage Vow”.
The said the Jodi Sta. Maria-starrer has been a constant chart-topper among Viu Philippines local content and is looking poised to end its run as one of the most successful Asian content on the platform.
“Coming into this collaboration between Viu and ABS-CBN for our very first original adaptation, which is Flower of Evil, the stakes were high. And yet, every day on set, seeing how every single person worked so hard, brought their A-Game, I had so much faith in every single person whether on camera or behind the camera,” she added.
Shredding that statement to finer details, Garcia took the chance to share a story about a utility man working at ABS-CBN. “I’d like to point out something one of our utility men said. His name is Patrick and he’s the guy that helps us with our things, with coffee on set, with water. At the end of our lock-in, I just thanked him, I said “Maraming salamat sa lahat ng binigay mo, sa tulong mo, kasi hindi ito mabubuo na wala ikaw, at ang kontribusyon mo” she said.
“Alam mo ang sagot nya? ‘Karangalan ko po na galingan ko sa trabaho kasi nakikita ko lahat ng katrabaho ko sa set na ito, ginagalingan po’” she added. By that point, many of the people inside the studio were already welling up.
Garcia went on to underscore the invisible but binding force that unites all Kapamilyas.
“I think that’s the mark of a Kapamilya spirit, the mark of a collaboration between Viu and ABS-CBN. I’d like to think, that even the cast members, the production members can attest to the culture of respect, of love, that we brought in with this Viu and ABS-CBN collaboration. And really, it was with just one vision. We wanted to all collectively be part of creating something we could be all proud of as Filipinos” she proudly proclaimed.
Flower of Evil makes its grand debut on Viu on Thursday, June 23 and Friday, June 25, before its free TV premiere on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26.
