RR Enriquez has clarified to her followers that she was never against Jane De Leon being the new actress to play Darna.
In a Facebook post, Enriquez admitted that she finds De Leon “sexy” but lacks the “sex appeal.”
“Infairness sexy po sya, pinanood ko din yung video pero mga clips pa lang. Sexy po ng dating nya but I still didn’t see the sex appeal,” she wrote.
Unlike the previous actresses who played Darna, De Leon relatively has an “innocent” look and leaves a lot to the imagination.
“Hindi katulad ng dating nila Angel and Marian na pagnanasaan mo agad. Yung makakaubos ka ng madaming tissue CHAROT,” Enriquez added.
She said De Leon has proven that not all Darna actresses have to be racy.
“So that’s what I saw with Jane.. Pinatunayan nya na hindi kailangan maging super pasexy to prove that you’re sexy Darna na pinagpapantasyahan because of your body.
“But sa character na nakita ko parang nagets ko na they wanted to show us na hindi lang pang sexy fantasize si new Darna. You can love her and focused on her other characteristics…. A strong define classy young woman DARNA.
“So ayun po good congrats Jane you nailed it,” she said.
Darna premiered on August 19, and De Leon received all kinds of praises. After the good reception, viewers went after Enriquez, who previously said the young actress lacked the “It” factor.
Enriquez actually praised De Leon’s composure in taking in criticism.
Just because Enriquez said she doesn’t see anything special in De Leon doesn’t mean she’s praying for her downfall, she wrote.
“Tandaan na kahit sinasabi ko I don’t see any special sa kanya para maging si Darna, doesn’t mean hindi na sya magaling or wala talaga sya potentia. Pwede kasi natin pag isipan na hindi tayo lahat pare parehas ng nakikita sa isang tao.”
