Aika Robredo has revealed why her family appears to be taking the loss of former vice president Leni Robredo in the 2022 national elections well.
In an interview with Christian Esguerra, Robredo said her family is “at peace” with her mother’s failure to win the presidential race because they gave it their all.
“At peace kami sa lahat na nangyari.Hindi kami nagkulang. ‘Di siya [Leni Robredo] nagkulang as a candidate. ‘Di rin kami nagkulang as a family na ikampanya siya,”
She said her mother didn’t exactly want to be president which makes the loss easier to digest.
“All out kami nung campaign season. Malinaw rin saamin na ‘di naman ginusto ng Mama namin. Yung reason niya for running it’s not because inambisyunan niya. Parati siyang in the bigger scheme of things.”
“And kung hindi niya yun makuha, matatanggap niya rin kasi hindi niya yung personal na hinangad for herself,” she added.
The family was also more “logical” in accepting the results. They paid close attention to the numbers and had an idea of how the race was going to turn out.
“Naniniwala rin kami sa surveys. So yung expectations namin tempered out. Hindi rin kami nagulat sa results.
“Kung para sakanya lang, parang okay na. Matagal na rin siyang nag serve.” she said.
When asked why trolls continue to attack her family despite her mother being out of office, Robredo said she isn’t exactly sure why.
“Siguro naghahanap sila ng ibang titirahin ulit.” she said.
Plus, each member of the family is busy with their respective careers.
“Pag pinansin mo, parang vinavalidate mo yung pangungulit nila sayo. Marami kaming kanya-kanyang ginagawa. So bakit pagsasayangan pa ng oras,” she furthered.
The former vice president was heavily battered on social media during the election season. Aika and her sisters were also subjected to fake lewd videos manufactured by trolls to ruin their image.
