We’ve seen how Japan sets off out-of-this-world styles when it comes to fashion. Their street style ranges from very simple to extremely unique outfits matched with bleached or ornamented hair PLUS excessive amounts of skin bronzer and eye makeup.
This year, there’s a new fashion craze that’s hitting the land of the rising sun. And I got this feeling it will soon reach the Philippines as well.
What’s the latest fad?
Women across the country are wearing ribbons below their breasts.
Now, why would they do that?
To lift their breasts up and to make their cleavage more prominent each time they raise their arms.
When did it start?
The fad was picked up by enthusiasts through the new Anime show ‘Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?’ starred by a cartoon character named Hestia who boasts of her busty physique.
Since then, Hestia became a hit with fans imitating the fictional character through cosplays and on social media.
Is the ‘bust trick’ effective?
According to one cosplayer who posted on Twitter,
Would a ribbon like Hestia’s actually give me any uplift? Result: Not in the slightest. Conclusion: It just makes it hard to move, and the ribbon is cutting into my arms.
