In an attempt to get viewers glued to their network, Saturday Night Live (SNL) decided to air a pirated version of the much-awaited Mayweather-Pacquiao fight instead of their usual comedy sketch.
While millions of boxing aficionados turned their attention to the “Fight of the Century”, SNL came up with a brilliant idea of making fun of the hype surrounding this generation’s biggest boxing match.
In its announcement, a voiceover said: “One of the guys on our crew knows a guy, who has a friend, who was able to steal the Pay-Per-View signal.”
Known for making parodies, SNL successfully rendered a hilarious version of the epic fight between a much taller Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr played by Jay Pharaoh and Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao who seems like “a white woman with a fake goatee and a T-shirt” portrayed by Aidy Bryant.
Of course, if there’s Mayweather, there’s got to be a Justin Bieber somewhere on the ringside. Comedienne Kate McKinnon easily pulled off The Bieb.
Find out who won in the epic fight.
