Netizen Wilj Lau posted a video on May 1 to his Facebook timeline featuring a rat perched on one of the plants in Vikings, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
According to witnesses, his family, along with other guests, was surprised to see a rat fall from the ceiling of the popular eat-all-you-can buffet restaurant and scamper to one of the potted plants.
The video was posted with a call out to Viking’s management, demanding an explanation as to how the incident could have happened. Vikings has yet to release a statement regarding the issue.
The incident, should it be proven, will be an apparent violation to Republic Act No. 10611, otherwise known as the Food Safety Act of 2013, which aims to strengthen the food safety regulatory system in the country by protecting the public from food-borne and water-borne illnesses and unsanitary, unwholesome, misbranded or adulterated foods.
My whole family just got food poisoning form vikings!
