Do you ever wonder what price your body pays for drinking a can of regular or diet Coke?
Previous studies have shown the long-term health consequences of frequent drinking of soda. What exactly happens inside our bodies after an hour of drinking a can of Coke has been revealed for the first time.
Niraj Naik, a former pharmacist from the United Kingdom and owner of the blog The Renegade Pharmacist, revealed the beverage’s alleged effects. He even gave a moment-to-moment description of the effects on the drinker’s body.
Apparently, the sugar-packed soda affects most parts of our bodies including our teeth, lungs, heart, and even brain.
Here are the infographics about drinking a can of regular and diet Coke.
“Regular consumption of these ingredients in the high quantities you find in Coke and other processed foods and drinks, can lead to higher blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and obesity. If you care about your heart, health and mind then please remember this article next time you reach for that bottle of Coke!” he wrote.
“From my experience as a community pharmacist helping people to get off medications for metabolic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and obesity, I found if people drink diet sodas they still get the same problems as people who drink normal soda,” Naik explained.
Coke has not released a statement regarding Naik’s claims.
