Dad confiscates daughter’s phone, is accused of stealing it

When Texas native Ronald Jackson found a text message, which he deemed inappropriate, on his teenaged daughter’s mobile phone, he had no qualms about confiscating the girl’s phone immediately.

A few hours later, however, police came by to arrest the 36-year-old Jackson. Apparently, his daughter and her mom had other ideas. The mother claimed the cell phone was actually hers and reported the confiscation as theft.

Jackson was able to post bail, but was sent a citation for theft. He refused to pay for the citation and instead, went to court to challenge it. Fortunately for him, the odds were in his favor.

Last January, a Dallas judge had ruled in Jackson’s favor and had all charges against him dropped. The dutiful dad also got to keep the cell phone.
