An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia has turned to social media to ask for help.
According to a viral post on Facebook, a domestic helper identified as Amira Landasan apparently underwent two appendectomy procedures recently. Landasan claimed that the complications caused by the operations had made her unable to work. She urged the public to help her contact her recruiter as well as her recruitment agency for assistance.
Aside from the physical pain the Pinay worker is experiencing, she also revealed in her post that she is being denied food.
A certain Nadzpar Daman claimed that Landasan was brought by her female employer to the hospital to have her appendix removed for no apparent reason. After the operation, Landasan returned to Jeddah and later on, accompanied her employer to Jordan for a vacation. However, the police allegedly held them because of her unpaid hospital bills. The two were later released from jail as soon as her employer paid the hospital bills. Eventually, they returned to Jeddah where Landasan underwent a second appendectomy.
Daman also added Landasan has not been receiving her salary since then because her employer shouldered the fees for her surgeries.
In her recent post made on Saturday, March 5, Landasan identified her employer as Abeeh Mohamoud Kutbi from Al Rahaily in Jeddah. Her employer, according to Landasan, won’t allow her to go home despite her condition because she still has to pay them for the expenses she apparently incurred during their vacation in Jordan. She also identified her parents as Monawara Landasan and Baumol Sanday of Pikit, North Cotabato. Moreover, Landasan revealed that her name on her passport is Zuhnia Guiama Utto.
Landasan also shared her family’s and her agency’s numbers as well as a personal contact number in the said post.
