MANILA, Philippines. In order to know the identity of the man who took his iPad and legal documents, Atty. Jobert Ilarde Pahilga has posted photos of the culprit on Facebook.
According to Pahilga, he accidentally left his gadget and documents at a computer table while having some documents printed inside Digibytes Internet Cafe at SM Manila on Thursday, March 3. Pahilga then proceeded to file a case at the fiscal’s office in Manila City Hall. Upon learning that he left his possessions at the establishment, Pahilga returned but his things were already gone. He then requested to see the Internet cafe’s CCTV footage.
Based on the establishment’s CCTV footage, the man in question was seated at computer table number 2. A new customer who occupied computer table number 1 noticed the iPad and documents and asked the man if he knew who owned them. Without batting an eye, the man claimed that it was his, took them, and left the establishment.
Although Pahilga had no intention of ruining the reputation of the man who took his things, he said that he has no choice but to share CCTV photos since he badly needed the documents. He urged the public to refrain from harassing the man as he only intends to recover his things, particularly the documents, which his client owns.
In one of his comments, he wrote, “Take note, I did not say he stole it. I said he took it. Those are two different things. I only wanted to recover what is mine and this is one of the means I know how to identify him ASAP because I badly needed the documents. You may say I am partly to be blamed for being negligent. Be that as it may, he should act with honesty.”
Pahilga will not be pressing charges if the documents and the iPad are returned.
