Pets are known to provide companionship to their owners. However, there are times pets can unintentionally hurt their humans. Take for example Cent Hernais, who was bitten by his three-year-old Chow Chow dog.
On March 8, 2016, Hernais posted a Facebook status showing his pet dog and the bitemarks he got on his hand.
Hernais said in his post:
“Hi Everyone! Si BabyCoco nga pala yun nasa left! 3yrs Old na sya. Alaga ko.sya simula nung puppy pa lang sya! And kanina kinagat niya ako. For the first time. napansin ko kasi napakainit ngayon ng panahon kaya papaliguan ko sana sya ng bigla akong kinagat at sinakmal. Hindi ko sya pinalo habang kagatkagat nya ako hanggang narinig ko na tumunog na yun buto ko hinayaan ko lang siya hanggang sya na kusa nag alis sa pagkakakagat. Ang akin lang Maging aware po sana tayong mga dog owners na hindi porket alaga natin sila eh hindi na nila tayo kakagatin. Lalo na ngayon mainit ang panahon mas mabilis mag bago ang mood nila. Kaya konting ingat, kailangan ng matinding pag unawa at mahabang pasensya nalang mga ka dog owners.

[Hi everyone! That’s Baby Coco on the left (side of the picture)! He is three years old. He’s been my pet since he was a puppy. Earlier, he bit me for the first time. I noticed that the weather was so hot so I decided to give him a bath, but then he bit me. I didn’t hit him while he was biting my hand until I heard that my bone crack. I just let him bite me until he eventually let go. I just want us, dog owners, to be aware (of this). Don’t think that your pet dog will never bite you. Especially now that the weather is really warm, I noticed that their mood changes quickly. We need to be careful, and we need to understand and extend our patience towards them. P.S. I still love BabyCoco]
According to Your Pure Bred Puppy, Chow Chow dogs can sometimes be aggressive, have a strong temperament, and may have defensive reactions. This incident should also serve as a reminder that pet owners should be responsible and have their pet dogs vaccinated, especially for rabies.
Hernais’s post went viral on social media with over 3,000 shares on Facebook as of this writing.
