Roxas supporters make ‘PH VOTE ROXAS’ trend on Twitter

Supporters of Liberal Party Presidential candidate Mar Roxas took to Twitter to share why they choose him over other candidates.

Tweeting “PH VOTE ROXAS,” netizens who support Roxas’s candidacy shared the reasons why they’re voting for him for President in the coming May 2016 Philippine elections.

Led by celebrities (namely Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo, and Ramon Bautista) who showed support for Roxas, the hashtag reached the number 2 spot on Twitter Philippines’ trending topics last Saturday, April 9.

Kathryn and Daniel were some of the first celebrities who supported Roxas’s candidacy. They were seen in the music video Fast Forward with fellow celebrity Roxas supporters. According to the Teen King and Queen, they chose Roxas based on their principles and the candidate’s decent character.

Like KathNiel, Ramon Baustista was also among those celebrities who endorsed Roxas early on. Bautista was even heavily criticized on social media for coming up with such decision. But Ramon remained steadfast and said Roxas is determined to fight corruption, to protect human rights, and to fight for peace and order.

Most of the tweets from ordinary netizens characterized Mar as a decent leader who would be fit for the Presidency, a position which calls for decency. Others said Mar has a proven track record from being a Congressman, a Senator, and a cabinet secretary. Netizens also acknowledged Mar’s holistic and solid platforms which are not over-reaching and are achievable.
