Religious leader predicts Duterte landslide win: ‘Good doesn’t defeat evil. The greater evil defeats evil’

“Duterte is the Apollo that this country needs – to slay the corruption, to slay drug addiction, and to slay poverty… Good doesn’t defeat evil. The greater evil defeats evil.” These were the words Apollo Quiboloy, founder of Kingdom of Jesus Christ Church, used to descibe presidential candidate Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

On Monday, April 25, during a private banquet for VIPs for his 66th birthday celebration, Quiboloy predicted a landslide victory for the tough-talking mayor of Davao City whom he described as “sheep in wolf’s clothing.” Duterte along with running mate Senator Alan Peter Cayetano; Senatorial aspirants Leila de Lima, Miguel Zubiri, Edu Manzano, and Sherwin Gatchalian; Irene Marcos-Araneta; and other local candidates attended his birthday celebration which turned into a sortie.

He added: ”You cannot fight the devil if you are a saint. You can only fight the devil if you are more of a devil than the devil himself.”

Long before Duterte became the mayor of Davao City, he and Quiloboy were already friends. After having a dream of Duterte in Malacañang Palace, the congregation leader pushed Duterte to seek the highest post in the country.

Currently, Quiloboy is actively campaigning for Duterte and provides free transportation in his campaign sorties.

Despite being embroiled in a number of controversies, Duterte emerged as the frontrunner in the presidential race, gaining 35% of the votes in the most recent Pulse Asia Survey published on April 26.
