Who would have thought that a seemingly harmless love bite could end the life of young and healthy man from Mexico?
Julio Macias Gonzalez, a 17-year-old lad from Mexico City, suddenly died after receiving a hickey from his 24-year-old girlfriend. Doctors believe that the hickey created a blood clot that traveled all the way to his brain which resulted in a stroke.
Gonzalez was having dinner with his family at Iztapalapa borough when he suddenly began having intense convulsions. His relatives attempted to contact emergency services but the paramedics failed to save him.
According to Hoy Estade De Mexico, the teen’s parents didn’t approve of the lovebirds’ relationship because of their age difference.
As of this writing, the girlfriend’s whereabouts are unknown.
In 2011, a woman from New Zealand was partially paralyzed after a hickey caused her to suffer a stroke. Fortunately, she survived the incident and fully recovered after being given anti-coagulant medicine.
