There are many reasons why people experience bleeding nose. But a 22-year-old man found out that his nosebleeds was caused by something very disturbing.
Once or twice a month, for over 3 years, this young man suffered from nosebleeds. Until he cannot take it anymore and decided to have it checked by a professional. The doctor examined his sniffer and found out a tooth that’s about 1 centimeter long.
He was referred to dentists which gave him only one result: An extra tooth that somehow managed to grow up into his nasal cavity.
With the patient’s permission, the tooth was extracted. Three months after the tooth was taken off, the man hasn’t had any nosebleeds.
According to Dr. John Hellstein, a dentist and professor of oral pathology at the University of Iowa, the man has mesiodens, a common type of extra tooth, which is found around incisor teeth.
No one knows the reason why people develop extra teeth but experts say that it can somehow be caused by genetic factors.
