Millions of active Facebook users have been requesting for a dislike button for a really long time. Apparently, the six reactions are not enough to suffice some posts.
Back in September 2015, Facebook had announced that they were working for a much anticipated dislike button which is intended to express empathy in a post or a picture.
During a public town hall meeting in Menlo Park, California last year, Mark Zuckerberg said, “It took us a while to get here… because we don’t want to turn Facebook into a forum where people are voting up or down on people’s posts. That doesn’t seem like the kind of community that we want to create.”
Just recently, the all-time favorite social media network has finally launched a small trial for some users. However, the tests are only run through the Messenger app as of the moment which can be used to respond to a message using the dislike button along with the six other reactions as another option.
According to the site, “We’re always testing ways to make Messenger more fun and engaging.” Zuckerberg also added, “This is a small test where we enable people to share an emoji that best represents their feelings on a message.”
Since the dislike option is still running as a test, netizens hope Facebook can make this available in the near future.
