There are so many cases of famous personalities that chose not to use their platform for a better cause, and Katy Perry is not liking it.
As the new cover of Vogue this coming May, the 32-year-old pop star had a lot to say to the celebrities who don’t care about politics.

“I don’t think you have to shout it from the rooftops, but I think you have to stand for something,” Katy talking about standing up for what you believe in.
Spicy statements followed this comment after noticing that a lot of artists keep their mouth shut despite USA’s divisive political climate.
“And if you’re not standing for anything, you’re really just serving yourself, period, end of story,” she slams those ‘celebrities’.
Metaphoric New Single
As she released her latest single “Chained to the Rhythm”, she was first to admit that the song was about shedding light on issues such as mortgages and loan crises in the world. It also tackles about the poisoned water epidemic happening in Flint, Michigan.
She also dissed that her sweet-as-candy image on her hit 2010 album, Teenage Dream, no longer suits her now.
“‘California Gurls’ and fluffy stuff would be completely inauthentic to who I am now and what I’ve learned. I do believe we need a little escapism, but I think that it can’t all be that. If you have a voice, you have a responsibility to use it now more than ever,” she explains to the fashion bible.

Perry was seen very active in supporting the former Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton. She even sang at the Democratic National Convention last July. When the former secretary of the state lost the 2016 Elections, she expressed her disappointments, saying:
“I was really disheartened for a while; it just brought up a lot of trauma for me. Misogyny and sexism were in my childhood: I have an issue with suppressive males and not being seen as equal. I felt like a little kid again being faced with a scary, controlling guy.”
She also had something to say to the younger generations, ending the interview with this statement:
“I am so grateful that young people know the names of senators. I think teenage girls are going to save the world! That age group just seems to be holding people accountable. They have a really strong voice — and a loud one.”
