Las Vegas, Nevada–a 6-month-old baby girl was gruesomely mauled by their family dog as she played outside their house.
Mother’s desperate attempt to save her
It was a Monday sunny afternoon when Kamiko Dao Tsuda-Saelee was playing outdoors in a baby walker. According to the relative who said she was with, she went inside the house to use the restroom when the dog started to butcher the innocent baby.
Coming back to witness a bloody scene, the relative did not know what to do but to call the baby’s mother. According to KNTV, the mother was able to stop the bloody attack and Kamiko was rushed to the nearest hospital.
Too late
The rescue came too late, and the young girl was heavily affected by her injuries. The investigation showed that the incident appears to be a tragic one because no criminal charges are to be filed. Clark County Animal Control Officers, on the other hand, took custody of the pit bull.
According to the Las Vegas police officer, Larry Hadfield:
“It’s an absolute true tragedy. Regardless of how trusting you are of animals, you have to make sure you are supervising. You have a family that’s going to be grieving for today and the rest of their lives.”

To help Kamiko’s family, a GoFundMe page has been created. The whole family is still in shock.
It was so saddening that the dog who killed Kamiko was a member of the family and had been alongside her as she played with it before the tragedy.
