- 10-m snake was discovered after an explosion in a cave in Brazil
Blame it on the movie, but we never really expected snakes to be this big! And if we thought only Jennifer Lopez can catch an anaconda, we’re wrong.
400-kg Anaconda?
It is recently reported that a giant snake, 33-foot in measure, was discovered on a building site in Altamira, Pará (Brazil). The serpent allegedly weighs 400 kgs and was found by the construction workers on duty that time.
It is believed that the snake was brought by the explosion in a cave nearby. A footage that filmed the gigantic body of the serpent circulated online. Chained to a crane, its yellow-spotted belly was soon revealed in the latter parts of the video.
Record-breaking
Before this anaconda was discovered, the Guinness World Record for the longest snake in captivity is a snake in Kansas City, US, named Medusa. The snake measures 25 ft, 2 inches long.
Although no one has confirmed whether the python was killed or not, no succeeding reports were made about the alleged 33-foot long snake.
The Belo Monte Dam where the anaconda was recovered, is a hydroelectric dam complex under construction on the Xingu River. It is the unofficial fourth largest dam installation in the world, next to the Three Gorges Dam in China.
