Astrid S, a Norwegian pop star who gained stardom after placing fifth at Pop Idol in 2013. Since then, the 20-year-old singer became an award-winning artist and had several hits under her name.
Breathe Unveils
This year, 2017, Astrid S finally releases her brand new single “Breathe“, the first track of her new music coming out later this year. After her breakthrough year in 2016, topping 120 million streams on Spotify with her hit single “Hurts So Good”, she is definitely one to watch out for.
Her latest single “Breathe” was produced by Oscar Holter for Wolf Cousins, the producer of Tove Lo, Demi Lovato, Ellie Goulding etc.. Surpassing 3 million streams within the first few days of the release, the single is now available at all digital music outlets.
Music Video
Directed by Cherry Cobra Films, the official music video for “Breathe” caters Astrid S as a part of a vigilante couple who commit a heist in a Tarantino-esque, action-packed short film format.
When asked about the music video, she has this to say, “This is the biggest music video I’ve done yet! There was a big crew, a lot of equipment and effects, not to mention all the costumes and clothes! I think the video manages to capture the edge and sassiness of the song, with a good mix of serious and funny. I’m so excited to share it!”

The Berkåk native has able to prove that she is not just a contest girl after being seen ‘unprecedented critical and commercial success in both her home country of Norway and across the globe. In addition to the streaming success for “Hurts So Good,” the official music video recently hit 7 million views as a part of Astrid’s self-titled debut EP.’
Media outlets around the world also recognize her EP album, and in 2015, she won the MTV EMA for Best Norwegian Act in 2015 and has had multiple Norwegian Grammy nominations including Track of the Year for “Hurts So Good.” She has also awarded ‘Best Norwegian Act’ at the MTV European Music Awards. In 2016, she was hailed as ‘Breakthrough Artist Of The Year’ for her self-titled EP.
