- A Facebook user named Jane Sevilla shared a touching post on her personal account.
- According to her, an old man walked up to her to ask for a job.
- Sevilla admired the man after he waited for hours just to get a look at which companies are still hiring.
Fathers will do anything for their children.
They are the ones who are very much willing to do even multiple jobs just to be able to provide for their families’ needs. Fathers would gladly do some extra work, take overtime at the office or even work both in the night and day.
If they sense that they need to earn some money, they would gladly do it without complaining – no matter how old they may be.
One of the fathers who are determined to get a job despite his age is the old man who was spotted by a netizen at a job fair.
The man’s story was shared on the internet by Jane Sevilla and went viral in just a short period of time after it has been posted.
“When life is unfair to you.
DaetJobfair, and this lolo approached me. He wants to be interviewed for Technician position, I said meron po kayong resume o biodata? Sabi nia He only have one kaso kinuha na daw sa registration. I told him if he want, pwde naman sia magpasa ng resume sa branch mismo. Then umalis na sia.
According to the story, an old man approached her with the hopes of being interviewed for the position of Technician at a certain company. He was asked to present a resume but wasn’t able to provide a copy as he only had one copy and it was already submitted when he registered for the fair.
Sevilla didn’t want to reject the man so she told him to submit a bio-data in the branch directly – which the man agreed to and left.
Then he gave me thanks.”
Two hours later, the man returned with a piece of paper. He was asking Sevilla for help to list down the companies he can apply to as his sight isn’t as good as before.
However, due to the other applicants waiting in line, Sevilla told the man to ask for help from the organizers instead since they are the ones who know which among the jobs he can apply to.
A couple of hours had passed and Sevilla saw that the man was still at the fair. He was still looking for an available job even though he knew that the other employers had left the fair already.
She didn’t know what the reason was behind the man’s determination, but she was amazed by the kind of persistence he had shown.
Meanwhile, the netizens who had read her post hoped that the man already found a job – while the others are trying to reach out to Sevilla as they wanted to give the man a job.
The old man proved that age is indeed just a number. Looking at the way he dressed, he looked like someone who is in his 60s and above – which is the age required for retirement. However, the man still participated in the fair even though he knew that there are a lot of younger applicants than him.
If a person wants to get a job, he/she should make an effort to get one and be productive instead of being a lazy person at home.
Moreover, seeing how the old man was able to wait patiently for a job, why can’t the younger ones do the same?
What are your thoughts about the old man? Would you have given him a job on-the-spot if he applied in your company?
